Description

This casserole brings together ground beef and potatoes in a comforting dish, perfect for family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (your choice)
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup (or a cream alternative)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, adding onions until tender.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture with cream of mushroom soup.
  4. Layer half the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish.
  5. Spread the beef mixture over the potatoes, followed by the remaining potato slices.
  6. Top with shredded cheese.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes until cheese is bubbling.

Notes

For added flavor, season the ground beef with garlic or Italian herbs. Feel free to experiment with your favorite spices.
