Description

A vibrant and flavorful shrimp stir-fry with tender cabbage and colorful vegetables, ready in just 20 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cups shredded cabbage (Napa cabbage preferred)
  • Vegetable oil (canola or peanut) for stir-frying
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece ginger, minced or grated
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low-sodium for a lighter touch)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Bell peppers and carrots, sliced
  • Green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the shrimp in soy sauce and sesame oil for about 10 minutes while you prepare the rest of the ingredients.
  2. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat and add vegetable oil.
  3. Add minced garlic and ginger once the oil is hot. Stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Toss in the marinated shrimp and cook for around 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Remove them from the pan and set aside.
  5. Add cabbage and other vegetables to the same pan, stirring frequently, and cook for another 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.
  6. Return the shrimp to the pan and combine everything well. Adjust seasoning with more soy sauce if needed.
  7. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving warm.

Notes

For a heartier meal, serve over steamed rice or noodles. Optional: sprinkle sesame seeds for added crunch.
