A comforting dish packed with layers of pasta, beef, and cheese, perfect for gatherings with loved ones.
Ingredients
- 12 oz ziti pasta (or any short pasta)
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the ziti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Season with salt and pepper.
- Stir in the marinara sauce and Italian seasoning, allowing it to simmer for about 5 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese with a pinch of salt and pepper, and half of the Parmesan.
- Layer half of the cooked pasta in a baking dish, followed by half of the beef mixture. Spread half of the ricotta mixture on top.
- Repeat the layers, finishing with mozzarella and the remaining Parmesan on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until bubbly and golden.
Notes
For best results, enjoy straight from the oven and pair with a fresh salad and garlic bread.
