Description

A delicious oven-baked chicken dish with a sweet and savory marinade, perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, Chinese five-spice powder, and sesame oil.
  3. Place the chicken thighs into a large resealable plastic bag and pour half of the marinade over the chicken; seal and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight, reserving the remaining marinade.
  4. Take the marinated chicken out of the fridge and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  5. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and arrange the chicken thighs on top.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until fully cooked.
  7. Meanwhile, pour the reserved marinade into a saucepan, bring it to a boil, then simmer for 10 minutes until thickened.
  8. Brush the baked chicken with the thickened marinade and broil on high for 2-3 minutes.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it rest before slicing and serving.

Notes

Consider marinating overnight for the best flavor. Grilling is also an option for a smoky taste.
