Description
Indulge in these BBQ brisket melts featuring tender, smoky beef brisket enveloped in gooey cheese on crispy bread.
Ingredients
- 3-4 lbs Beef brisket
- Your favorite BBQ sauce
- Slices of cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese
- Thick slices of crusty bread (such as sourdough or ciabatta)
- Olive oil or butter for grilling
- Optional: pickled jalapeños or sautéed onions for extra flavor
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 225°F (107°C) for low and slow cooking.
- Season the brisket generously with salt and pepper, and optionally add spices like paprika or garlic powder for extra flavor.
- Place the brisket in a roasting pan and cover tightly with foil. Cook in the oven for about 8 hours, or until fork-tender.
- Remove the brisket and let it rest for at least 30 minutes. Shred or slice the brisket based on your preference.
- Preheat a skillet or grill over medium heat.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread. On the non-buttered side, layer the shredded brisket and cheese.
- Place the sandwich in the skillet, cooking until golden brown and the cheese is melty. Flip carefully and grill the other side.
- Serve hot with additional BBQ sauce, if desired.
Notes
Consider marinating the brisket overnight for enhanced flavors. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for 3-4 days or frozen for up to three months.
