Description

Crispy, golden-brown tortillas filled with savory beef and cheese, perfect for a satisfying meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Monterey Jack)
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 8 flour tortillas
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. In a skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, cooking until softened.
  2. Stir in ground beef, seasoning with cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheese until melted.
  4. Place a generous scoop of the beef mixture in each tortilla, folding and rolling them tightly.
  5. Heat oil in the skillet and fry each chimichanga until golden brown on all sides.
  6. Drain on paper towels before serving.

Notes

Serve with guacamole, sour cream, or pico de gallo. Fresh cilantro can enhance flavor.
