Description

A comforting and nostalgic meatloaf recipe that’s easy to make and full of flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (or crushed crackers)
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons ketchup (plus extra for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  3. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated, but be careful not to overmix.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan, shaping it into a loaf.
  5. Spread extra ketchup over the top for a sweet glaze.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes, or until the inside temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  7. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For added flavor, try mixing in grated cheese or sautéed vegetables.
