Ingredients
- 1 ½ pounds ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (or crushed crackers)
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large egg
- ¼ cup milk
- 3 tablespoons ketchup (plus extra for topping)
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated, but be careful not to overmix.
- Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan, shaping it into a loaf.
- Spread extra ketchup over the top for a sweet glaze.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes, or until the inside temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
For added flavor, try mixing in grated cheese or sautéed vegetables.
