Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Egg noodles or rice (to serve)
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and mushrooms.
- Once the mushrooms are tender, sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir to combine, cooking for another minute.
- Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring until the mixture thickens slightly.
- Reduce heat and mix in the sour cream, ensuring everything is well combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve over cooked egg noodles or rice.
Notes
For a richer flavor, consider browning your beef with olive oil. Add crushed red pepper flakes for heat. Use Greek yogurt for a lighter version.
