Description

A hearty and comforting classic meatloaf that is easy to prepare and perfect for any family gathering.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground pork (optional)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup ketchup (plus extra for glazing)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork (if using), breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, 1/2 cup ketchup, egg, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until well incorporated.
  3. Transfer the meat mixture into a loaf pan, shaping it into a loaf form.
  4. Spread additional ketchup on top for glazing.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  6. Allow the meatloaf to rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For a deeper flavor, sauté the onions before adding them to the mixture. Avoid overmixing to keep the meatloaf tender.
