Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb ground pork (optional)
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup ketchup (plus extra for glazing)
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork (if using), breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, 1/2 cup ketchup, egg, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until well incorporated.
- Transfer the meat mixture into a loaf pan, shaping it into a loaf form.
- Spread additional ketchup on top for glazing.
- Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- Allow the meatloaf to rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For a deeper flavor, sauté the onions before adding them to the mixture. Avoid overmixing to keep the meatloaf tender.
