Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup caramel sauce
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare the baking pans by greasing and lining them with parchment.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, adding vanilla extract as you mix.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
- Divide the batter equally among your prepared pans.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let it cool in the pans for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
- Once cooled, layer the cakes with whipped cream and drizzle caramel sauce between each layer and on top.
Notes
Using room temperature ingredients will enhance the mixing process. For an extra fluffy texture, do not overmix once the dry ingredients are added.
