Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- ½ teaspoon ground cardamom
- ½ teaspoon ground cloves
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup buttermilk (or milk with lemon juice)
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Cream cheese frosting (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare a cake pan by greasing and lining it with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, spices, and sugars.
- In a separate bowl, combine the oil, buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla; mix until smooth.
- Gradually fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool completely before frosting with cream cheese frosting.
Notes
