Description

A hearty blend of flavors that combines the classic taste of a cheeseburger into a comforting pie form.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: diced tomatoes or pickles for garnish


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the diced onion until translucent, then add the ground beef and season with salt and pepper. Cook until browned.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, milk, and eggs until smooth.
  4. Stir in the cooked beef and onion mix, then fold in the shredded cheese.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased pie dish. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is firm and golden.
  6. Allow to cool slightly before slicing.

Notes

For added flavor, try seasoning the beef with garlic powder or your favorite steak seasoning. Consider using a mix of sautéed mushrooms and bell peppers for a vegetarian option.
