Description

Tender chicken in a delightful Riesling sauce, perfect for impressing guests or enjoying a cozy night in.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup Riesling wine (or similar white wine)
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Season the chicken with salt and pepper, then add to the skillet. Sear until golden brown on both sides, about 5 minutes per side. Remove chicken and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add onions and garlic, cooking until softened.
  4. Pour in the Riesling, scraping up any browned bits from the pan. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Stir in the chicken broth and thyme, then return the chicken to the skillet.
  6. Cover and simmer on low heat for about 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
  7. Remove the chicken again and add heavy cream to the skillet, stirring until the sauce thickens slightly.
  8. Return the chicken to the sauce, allowing it to warm through before serving.

Notes

For a delightful presentation, serve the chicken topped with the creamy sauce and fresh parsley. Pairs well with buttery mashed potatoes or steamed asparagus.
