Description

A comforting baked dish that combines tender chicken with layers of cheese, perfect for family meals.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or cubed
  • 1 cup cooked rice (white or brown)
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or a blend)
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs for topping (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, rice, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, garlic powder, and any frozen vegetables you choose to include.
  3. Season with salt and pepper, stirring until everything is well mixed.
  4. Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish and spread evenly.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top, followed by breadcrumbs if desired.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until hot and bubbly, and the top is lightly browned.
  7. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
