Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken breast, sliced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: grated parmesan cheese for garnish
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Season the chicken slices with salt and pepper, then add to the skillet. Cook until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the chopped basil and season with salt and pepper.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, allowing it to soak in the flavors for another 5-10 minutes.
- Serve hot, garnished with grated parmesan if desired.
Notes
For enhanced basil flavor, add some fresh basil leaves towards the end of cooking. You can substitute heavy cream for half-and-half for a lighter sauce.
