Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 ½ cups unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease your cake pans.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla; beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
- Stir in the boiling water carefully until the batter is well mixed and smooth.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes. Check doneness with a toothpick.
- Allow the cakes to cool for 10 minutes, then remove from pans and let cool completely on a wire rack.
Notes
For an even richer flavor, consider using high-quality dark chocolate cocoa powder. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days or wrapped tightly for freezing.
