Description

A rich, indulgent chocolate cake that’s perfect for special occasions or everyday celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ cups unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease your cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla; beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
  4. Stir in the boiling water carefully until the batter is well mixed and smooth.
  5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes. Check doneness with a toothpick.
  6. Allow the cakes to cool for 10 minutes, then remove from pans and let cool completely on a wire rack.

Notes

For an even richer flavor, consider using high-quality dark chocolate cocoa powder. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days or wrapped tightly for freezing.
