Description
A festive and flavorful jam made with cranberries and strawberries, perfect for spreading on toast or gifting during the holiday season.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds cranberries (fresh or frozen)
- 1 1/2 pounds strawberries (fresh or frozen)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/4 cups light brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground allspice
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- Optional: zest of one orange or 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Prep the fruits: Rinse fresh cranberries and remove stems. Slice strawberries and set aside.
- Combine ingredients: Add cranberries, strawberries, both sugars, and spices to the crockpot. Stir well.
- Cook: Cover and cook on high for 4 hours, stirring halfway through.
- Blend: Use an immersion blender to pulse the mixture until jam-like texture is reached.
- Jar it up: Ladle hot jam into sterilized jars. Wipe rims and secure lids lightly.
- Cool & refrigerate: Let jars cool at room temperature, then refrigerate overnight before use.
Notes
Store in tightly sealed jars in the refrigerator or freeze for long-term storage. Use clean utensils to maintain freshness.
