A cozy, layered version of classic chicken parmesan that’s perfect for gatherings and family dinners.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked and shredded chicken breasts
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken with marinara sauce until well coated.
- Layer half of the chicken mixture at the bottom of a baking dish.
- Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese over the chicken layer.
- Add the remaining chicken mixture on top, followed by the rest of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Top with breadcrumbs and drizzle with olive oil for a golden finish.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown.
- Allow it to cool slightly before serving for easier slicing.
Notes
For a crispy topping, broil for the last 2-3 minutes, closely watching to prevent burning.
