Description

A cozy, layered version of classic chicken parmesan that’s perfect for gatherings and family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked and shredded chicken breasts
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken with marinara sauce until well coated.
  3. Layer half of the chicken mixture at the bottom of a baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese over the chicken layer.
  5. Add the remaining chicken mixture on top, followed by the rest of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  6. Top with breadcrumbs and drizzle with olive oil for a golden finish.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Allow it to cool slightly before serving for easier slicing.

Notes

For a crispy topping, broil for the last 2-3 minutes, closely watching to prevent burning.
