Description

A comforting and hearty meatloaf recipe that is perfect for weeknight dinners or cozy gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup ketchup (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, diced onion, minced garlic, milk, ketchup, egg, Worcestershire sauce, and a generous pinch of salt and pepper.
  3. Mix everything together well until fully combined, ensuring no dry ingredients remain.
  4. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.
  5. Spread a layer of ketchup on top for added flavor and moisture.
  6. Bake for 1 hour or until the meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C) and is no longer pink in the center.
  7. Once out of the oven, let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing to help retain its juices.

Notes

For a lighter option, substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days.
