Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup ketchup (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, diced onion, minced garlic, milk, ketchup, egg, Worcestershire sauce, and a generous pinch of salt and pepper.
- Mix everything together well until fully combined, ensuring no dry ingredients remain.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.
- Spread a layer of ketchup on top for added flavor and moisture.
- Bake for 1 hour or until the meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C) and is no longer pink in the center.
- Once out of the oven, let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing to help retain its juices.
Notes
For a lighter option, substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days.
