Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup ketchup (for topping)
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar (for topping)
- 1 tablespoon mustard (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, milk, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until everything is well incorporated.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.
- In a small bowl, mix the ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard. Spread this mixture evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- Allow the meatloaf to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For a leaner option, substitute ground turkey or chicken; for dietary needs, use gluten-free breadcrumbs.
