Description

A hearty and comforting classic meatloaf recipe, perfect for weeknight dinners and special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup ketchup (plus 1/4 cup for topping)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, milk, 1/4 cup ketchup, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Transfer the mixture into a loaf pan, shaping it into a neat loaf.
  4. Spread the additional 1/4 cup ketchup on top for a flavorful glaze.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
  6. Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For a lighter option, substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken. Use gluten-free breadcrumbs for dietary preferences.
