Description
A comforting one-pot meal blending tender chicken, Cajun spices, and creamy Alfredo with orzo for a delightful twist.
Ingredients
- 1 pound chicken breast, diced
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add diced chicken, seasoning it with salt, pepper, and Cajun seasoning. Cook until browned and cooked through.
- Stir in the orzo, allowing it to absorb the flavors for a minute.
- Pour in chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and let simmer until orzo is tender, about 10 minutes.
- Once the orzo is cooked, stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until creamy.
- Adjust seasoning if necessary, then remove from heat.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
Notes
For a lighter version, replace heavy cream with half-and-half or a plant-based alternative. Adding vegetables like bell peppers or spinach can enhance nutrition.
