Ingredients
- 1 cup cottage cheese (or ricotta)
- 1 large egg
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Sesame seeds or poppy seeds for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine cottage cheese, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt.
- Gradually add flour and baking powder, mixing until a dough forms.
- Once the dough is shaggy but manageable, turn it out onto a floured surface.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and shape each into a bagel form, making a hole in the center.
- Place each bagel on the prepared baking sheet; sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds if desired.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
For a fluffier texture, consider using Greek yogurt along with cottage cheese. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
