Description

Delightful and nutritious bagels made with cottage cheese, perfect for breakfast or a snack.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup cottage cheese (or ricotta)
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Sesame seeds or poppy seeds for topping (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine cottage cheese, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt.
  3. Gradually add flour and baking powder, mixing until a dough forms.
  4. Once the dough is shaggy but manageable, turn it out onto a floured surface.
  5. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and shape each into a bagel form, making a hole in the center.
  6. Place each bagel on the prepared baking sheet; sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds if desired.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

For a fluffier texture, consider using Greek yogurt along with cottage cheese. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
