Description

A juicy burger recipe packed with flavor, perfect for barbecues or weeknight meals.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 4 slices American cheese (or your favorite cheese)
  • 4 burger buns
  • Condiments (ketchup, mustard, etc.)
  • Optional: fresh lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, or onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. In a bowl, gently mix ground beef with salt and pepper. Don’t overwork the meat to keep it tender.
  3. Form patties, making them slightly larger than the buns to allow for shrinkage while cooking.
  4. Grill the burgers for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip.
  5. Add a slice of cheese on top of each burger during the last minute of cooking to melt.
  6. Toast the buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster.
  7. Assemble your burgers, adding your choice of condiments and toppings.

Notes

For optimal juiciness, resist pressing down on the patties while they cook and allow them to rest post-cooking.
