Description
A delightful dish featuring savory steak and tender tortellini wrapped in a creamy sauce, perfect for impressing guests or enjoying a cozy family dinner.
Ingredients
- 20 oz cheese tortellini
- 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye)
- Salt and black pepper (for seasoning)
- Garlic powder
- Smoked paprika
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 tbsp butter
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1 1/4 cups parmesan, shredded
- Parsley, chopped (optional)
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
- Cracked black pepper (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the Tortellini: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the tortellini and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Season the Steak: Liberally season both sides of the steak with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
- Sear the Steak: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the steak and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness. Remove from skillet and let rest before slicing.
- Prepare the Sauce: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add butter and allow it to melt. Stir in minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Make it Creamy: Pour in heavy cream and whole milk, stirring continuously. Gradually add the parmesan cheese while continuing to stir until melted and smooth.
- Combine: Add the cooked tortellini to the sauce, mixing well. Slice the steak and place on top of the tortellini, or mix it in.
- Garnish and Serve: Finish with a sprinkle of chopped parsley, red pepper flakes, and cracked black pepper.
