Description

Cranberry Cream Cheese Pinwheels are a delightful blend of creamy and tart, wrapped in flaky pastry, perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp honey (or maple syrup)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup dried cranberries (or fresh cranberries, finely chopped & sweetened)
  • 2 tbsp fresh chives, finely chopped
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 2 tbsp Parmesan cheese, grated (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, honey, and vanilla until well-blended and smooth.
  2. Stir in cranberries and chives.
  3. Lightly flour your surface and roll out the puff pastry sheet to a rectangle.
  4. Evenly spread the cream cheese mixture over the pastry.
  5. Roll the pastry tightly into a log and slice into approximately 16 equal rounds.
  6. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  7. Place the pinwheels cut-side up on the baking sheet.
  8. Brush the tops lightly with egg wash, and sprinkle with Parmesan if using.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
  10. Garnish with extra chives and serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

For an extra flavor twist, consider adding a splash of orange zest or using nuts like walnuts or pecans.
