Description

A comforting beef stroganoff recipe combining tender beef, creamy sauce, and earthy mushrooms, perfect for weeknight dinners and gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked egg noodles or rice for serving
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, warm up the pan over medium heat, then add the ground beef. Cook until it’s richly browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  2. Toss in the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is soft, around 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the sliced mushrooms to the pan, cooking until they’re tender.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir to combine.
  5. Gradually pour in the beef broth, stirring continuously as it thickens. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  6. Lower the heat and gently fold in the sour cream, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve over warm egg noodles or rice and garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

For extra flavor, brown the beef in batches. Substitute ground beef with lentils for a vegetarian version.
