Description

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups milk (whole or 2%)
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese (or mix with mozzarella/cream cheese)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Pinch of garlic powder or onion powder
  • Optional add-ins: fresh vegetables like peas, broccoli, or cooked chicken


Instructions

  1. Begin by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook your noodles according to the package instructions until al dente.
  2. In a separate saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour, whisking until smooth.
  3. Gradually add the milk, whisking continually until the mixture thickens.
  4. Reduce heat and mix in the cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt, pepper, and any additional spices of your choice.
  5. Drain the noodles, then fold them into the cheese sauce until every strand is well coated.
