Description

Enjoy a delicious and creamy chicken tikka masala made effortlessly in a slow cooker. Perfect for cozy dinners and gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound Chicken thighs
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
  • 1 medium Shallot, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons Garam Masala
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato paste (optional)
  • 1 can Coconut milk
  • 1 teaspoon Chili flakes
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1/4 cup Cilantro, for garnish
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame seeds (optional)


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the chicken, yogurt, garlic, ginger, and spices. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes, or overnight for richer flavor.
  2. Transfer the marinated chicken to the crockpot.
  3. Stir in the chopped onions, shallots, coconut milk, and tomato paste.
  4. Cook on low for about 6 hours, letting the flavors meld together.
  5. When ready, stir in butter, and adjust seasoning if needed. Garnish with cilantro and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

For a vegan option, replace chicken with tofu and yogurt with a nut-based alternative. Serve with basmati rice and naan bread.
