Ingredients
- 2 cans canned salmon (14.75-ounce cans, drained and flaked)
- 1.5 teaspoons liquid smoke
- 4 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
- ⅓ cup mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt)
- ¼ cup fresh dill (or 2 teaspoons dried dill)
- ¼ cup minced shallot
- 1 clove garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- ¼ teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flaked salmon with minced shallot, garlic, and dill.
- In a separate small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, lemon juice, maple syrup, Dijon mustard, liquid smoke, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
- Pour the sauce over the salmon mixture. Gently fold until everything is evenly coated.
- Taste and adjust seasoning as necessary.
Notes
For the freshest flavor, use fresh dill if available. This salad can be made a day ahead for better flavor fusion.
