This creamy garlic Parmesan chicken pasta combines tender chicken, perfectly cooked pasta, and a luscious garlic Parmesan sauce for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
- 8 oz pasta (fettuccine or penne)
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.
- Sauté the Chicken: In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced chicken, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook until the chicken is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- Make the Sauce: In the same pan, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and stir, allowing it to simmer for a couple of minutes. Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth.
- Combine Everything: Add the cooked pasta and chicken to the sauce, tossing to combine. If the sauce is too thick, use some reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency.
- Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley before serving and enjoy!
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding sautéed onions or mushrooms. Adjust garlic to your taste, and use freshly grated Parmesan for better melting.
