Description

A delightful rice preparation that combines garlic and nutty Parmesan for a creamy and flavorful side dish.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup long-grain rice (or your choice of rice)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 2 cups vegetable or chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper, to taste


Instructions

  1. Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent.
  2. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the rice, tossing it with the onion and garlic mixture, and toast lightly for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Pour in the broth, ensuring it covers the rice. Bring to a simmer, then cover and reduce heat. Cook according to the rice package instructions.
  5. Once cooked, if necessary, stir in heavy cream until combined and then add grated Parmesan, mixing until melted and creamy. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.

Notes

For a lighter option, replace heavy cream with a lighter alternative. Adjust the seasoning as needed, and consider adding roasted garlic or experimenting with different cheeses.
