Description
Crispy, flavorful, and a little spicy chicken drizzled with a sweet and heat-packed hot honey glaze, perfect for gatherings or weeknight meals.
Ingredients
- Chicken pieces (thighs or drumsticks)
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup hot honey
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil or cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs and dip each piece of chicken in the egg wash before coating them in the flour mixture.
- Arrange the coated chicken on the baking sheet, ensuring they are spaced apart for even cooking.
- Lightly spray with olive oil and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- As the chicken cooks, heat the hot honey in a saucepan for a couple of minutes until it slightly thickens.
- Drizzle the hot honey over the chicken just before serving.
Notes
For maximum crispiness, ensure the chicken skin is dry before coating. Using a wire rack can help air circulate around the chicken while baking. Experiment with different spice levels or substitute chicken with cauliflower for a vegetarian option.
