Description

Crispy, flavorful, and a little spicy chicken drizzled with a sweet and heat-packed hot honey glaze, perfect for gatherings or weeknight meals.


Ingredients

  • Chicken pieces (thighs or drumsticks)
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup hot honey
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil or cooking spray


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs and dip each piece of chicken in the egg wash before coating them in the flour mixture.
  4. Arrange the coated chicken on the baking sheet, ensuring they are spaced apart for even cooking.
  5. Lightly spray with olive oil and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  6. As the chicken cooks, heat the hot honey in a saucepan for a couple of minutes until it slightly thickens.
  7. Drizzle the hot honey over the chicken just before serving.

Notes

For maximum crispiness, ensure the chicken skin is dry before coating. Using a wire rack can help air circulate around the chicken while baking. Experiment with different spice levels or substitute chicken with cauliflower for a vegetarian option.
