Description
Deliciously crispy chicken coated in a sticky honey garlic glaze, perfect for family gatherings or a cozy night in.
Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, minced (optional)
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Begin by slicing your chicken into bite-sized pieces.
- In a mixing bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger for the marinade.
- Marinate the chicken for at least 30 minutes; for deeper flavor, consider overnight.
- In a separate bowl, toss the marinated chicken pieces in cornstarch until well-coated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Fry the chicken until golden and crispy, about 6-8 minutes on each side.
- Once cooked, reduce the heat and pour the honey garlic mixture over the chicken in the skillet.
- Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly, coating the chicken.
Notes
For a gluten-free option, substitute the soy sauce with tamari or coconut aminos. For an extra crunch, double-dredge the chicken in cornstarch before frying.
