Description
A delightful take on a classic, these crispy wraps capture all the rich flavors of a traditional cheesesteak in a handheld meal.
Ingredients
- 1 pound thinly sliced beef (like sirloin)
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced (green or red)
- 2 cups shredded cheese (provolone, mozzarella, or American)
- 4 large tortillas (flour or whole wheat)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: hot sauce or steak sauce for serving
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers, cooking until they’re soft and starting to brown, about 5-7 minutes.
- Season the veggies with salt and pepper, then add the sliced beef to the skillet. Cook until the beef is browned and cooked through, around 5-8 minutes.
- Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the shredded cheese, allowing it to melt into the warm beef and veggies.
- Lay out each tortilla on a flat surface. Spoon a generous amount of the beef mixture onto each tortilla. Roll them up tightly, folding in the sides as you go.
- Return the skillet to medium heat. Place the wraps seam side down and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Slice in half and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces or hot sauce on the side.
Notes
For the best results, ensure your skillet is hot before adding the beef. Feel free to customize the wraps with different meats or toppings.
