Description

A comforting and budget-friendly Crockpot Butter Chicken with a rich, creamy sauce and tender chicken thighs, perfect for weeknight dinners.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons garam masala
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish
  • Naan or rice for serving


Instructions

  1. Add chopped onion, minced garlic, and grated ginger to the crockpot.
  2. Place chicken thighs on top, then pour in tomato sauce, butter, garam masala, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Stir gently to combine.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours until chicken is tender.
  5. Remove chicken, shred it with two forks, and return it to the pot.
  6. Add heavy cream and simmer for an extra 15 minutes.
  7. Serve warm over rice or with naan, garnished with fresh cilantro.

Notes

For a healthier option, substitute chicken thighs with chicken breasts and heavy cream with coconut milk.
