Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- Salt and pepper to taste
- French bread or rolls for serving
- Grated cheese for topping (optional)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, diced onion, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly and shape the mixture into meatballs.
- Place the formed meatballs into the crockpot.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the beef broth and onion soup mix. Pour this mixture over the meatballs in the crockpot.
- Cover the crockpot and set it to cook on low for 360 minutes or high for 240 minutes.
- Once done, serve the meatballs on slices of French bread or rolls, and top with grated cheese if desired.
Notes
For a lighter version, swap beef with turkey. Use gluten-free breadcrumbs if needed. Sauté diced onions in butter for additional flavor.
