A comforting casserole combining tender ground beef and creamy potatoes, perfect for family gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 cups potatoes, thinly sliced (Russets work well)
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cups shredded cheese (your favorite)
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
- In the slow cooker, layer half of the potatoes, followed by half of the beef, half of the onion, and a portion of cheese. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.
- In a bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup and milk until well combined. Pour this mixture over the layered ingredients.
- Season with salt and pepper. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours, or until the potatoes are tender.
- Once done, let it sit for a few minutes before serving to thicken slightly.
Notes
Pairs well with a green salad or crusty bread. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days.
