Description

A comforting casserole combining tender ground beef and creamy potatoes, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 cups potatoes, thinly sliced (Russets work well)
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (your favorite)
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
  2. In the slow cooker, layer half of the potatoes, followed by half of the beef, half of the onion, and a portion of cheese. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.
  3. In a bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup and milk until well combined. Pour this mixture over the layered ingredients.
  4. Season with salt and pepper. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours, or until the potatoes are tender.
  5. Once done, let it sit for a few minutes before serving to thicken slightly.

Notes

Pairs well with a green salad or crusty bread. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days.
