Ingredients
- 1 cup dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- Pinch of salt
- Optional: confectioners’ sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare your cake pan by greasing it lightly and lining the bottom with parchment paper.
- Melt the dark chocolate and butter together in a heatproof bowl over simmering water. Stir until smooth and well combined. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar and eggs until light and fluffy. Add in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually incorporate the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, mixing well.
- Carefully fold in the flour and salt until just combined, being cautious not to overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for about 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Once baked, allow it to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

For the most intense chocolate flavor, select high-quality dark chocolate and ensure all ingredients are at room temperature.
