Description

A hearty and versatile baked oatmeal dish with rich chocolate, perfect for busy mornings or cozy weekends.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 2 ½ cups milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • ½ cup maple syrup or honey
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (dark chocolate recommended)
  • Sliced bananas or nuts (optional for topping)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, combine the oats, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, maple syrup, egg, and vanilla.
  4. Pour the wet mixture over the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the mixture into the greased baking dish and spread it evenly.
  7. Top with sliced bananas or additional chocolate chips, if desired.
  8. Bake for about 25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  9. Allow it to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For an even richer flavor, toast the oats briefly before mixing. This dish can be made ahead of time and refrigerated overnight.
