Description
Deviled eggs are a classic appetizer featuring a creamy filling enhanced with mustard and spices.
Ingredients
- 6 large eggs
- 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Paprika, for garnish
- Fresh herbs (like chives or parsley), optional
Instructions
- Place eggs in a pot and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Once boiling, cover the pot, remove from heat, and let sit for 12 minutes.
- After the time is up, transfer eggs to an ice bath to cool for at least 5 minutes.
- Peel the eggs and cut them in half lengthwise. Remove yolks and place them in a mixing bowl.
- Mash the yolks with mayonnaise, mustard, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Spoon or pipe the mixture back into the egg whites.
- Garnish with a sprinkle of paprika and chopped herbs, if desired.
Notes
For perfectly boiled eggs, consider using older eggs for easier peeling. You can also experiment with flavors by adding avocado, Sriracha, or smoked paprika.
