Description

A delightful dessert that combines the sweetness of soda for a moist, flavorful cake perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup soda (your favorite variety)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder (optional for a chocolatey flavor)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the soda, sugar, and vegetable oil. Blend well.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing to incorporate.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder (if using).
  5. Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients until just mixed.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cake to cool before serving.

Notes

For best results, don’t overmix the batter. Tap the pan on the counter before baking to remove air bubbles.
