Delightful churro bars that combine the comforting flavors of traditional churros in a simple, shareable format.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Optional: chocolate sauce or caramel for drizzling
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish to prevent sticking.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl. Set aside.
- Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy in another bowl.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until well combined.
- Spread the dough evenly into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.
- Bake for about 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Once baked, let cool slightly, then cut into bars and dip each in melted butter followed by a mixture of cinnamon and sugar.
Notes
These bars can be served with chocolate sauce or caramel for dipping. They’re also delicious with ice cream or whipped cream.
