Description

Delightful churro bars that combine the comforting flavors of traditional churros in a simple, shareable format.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional: chocolate sauce or caramel for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish to prevent sticking.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl. Set aside.
  3. Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy in another bowl.
  4. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until well combined.
  6. Spread the dough evenly into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for about 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Once baked, let cool slightly, then cut into bars and dip each in melted butter followed by a mixture of cinnamon and sugar.

Notes

These bars can be served with chocolate sauce or caramel for dipping. They’re also delicious with ice cream or whipped cream.
