Description
A comforting home-cooked meal featuring succulent chicken thighs coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce.
Ingredients
- 1.5 pounds chicken thighs (bone-in or boneless)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Mix well.
- Place the chicken thighs in the marinade and cover. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator for deeper flavor.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Remove chicken from the marinade, reserving it for later.
- Place the chicken in the skillet, skin-side down (if using), and sear for about 5-6 minutes until golden brown. Flip and sear the other side for another 5 minutes.
- Pour the reserved marinade over the chicken. Reduce heat and cover, cooking for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
- If desired, let the sauce thicken slightly by removing the lid and simmering for a few more minutes.
- Serve warm, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
For a hint of heat, consider adding red pepper flakes to the marinade.
