Description

A comforting, flavorful meatloaf infused with Italian flavors and topped with marinara and mozzarella cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, onion, minced garlic, egg, milk, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and transfer it to a baking dish.
  4. Pour the marinara sauce over the top of the meatloaf, ensuring it’s well-covered.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour.
  6. After 45 minutes, sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top and return it to the oven until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Allow the meatloaf to rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For a lighter option, substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken. You can also use gluten-free breadcrumbs for a gluten-free version.
