Description
A comforting, flavorful meatloaf infused with Italian flavors and topped with marinara and mozzarella cheese.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, onion, minced garlic, egg, milk, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and transfer it to a baking dish.
- Pour the marinara sauce over the top of the meatloaf, ensuring it’s well-covered.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour.
- After 45 minutes, sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top and return it to the oven until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Allow the meatloaf to rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For a lighter option, substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken. You can also use gluten-free breadcrumbs for a gluten-free version.
