Ingredients
- 4 croissants (stale or fresh)
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- Optional: fresh berries or chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Tear the croissants into pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and nutmeg until well combined.
- Pour the egg mixture over the croissant pieces, pressing them gently to soak.
- Let it sit for about 15 minutes to absorb.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until golden and set.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For a dairy-free version, substitute almond milk or oat milk. This dish can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
