Description

A delightful baked sushi casserole that combines the flavors of traditional sushi with the comfort of a warm dish, perfect for gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 8 oz cream cheese (or dairy-free alternative)
  • 1 cup cooked shrimp or crab (or plant-based substitute)
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 4 seaweed sheets
  • Optional: 1 avocado, sliced
  • Optional: 1 cucumber, sliced


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook sushi rice according to package instructions and let it cool slightly.
  3. In a bowl, mix the cream cheese with soy sauce and chopped green onions.
  4. In a baking dish, layer the sushi rice evenly.
  5. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the rice.
  6. Add cooked shrimp or crab, distributing evenly.
  7. Top with sliced avocado and any other desired toppings.
  8. Bake for about 20 minutes, or until heated through and slightly golden.
  9. While baking, prepare seaweed sheets for serving.
  10. Once done, serve directly from the dish, scooping onto seaweed sheets.

Notes

Serve with pickled ginger and wasabi for an elevated experience. Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
