Description
A whimsical take on classic eggs, shaped like Christmas trees for a festive centerpiece.
Ingredients
- 7 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cloves garlic, sliced thin
- 5 oz baby spinach
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1/2 lemon (juice)
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce
- 2 tablespoons dehydrated potato flakes
- 1 red Fresno chili pepper, minced
- 1 yellow bell pepper, cut into small stars
- Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Cook the Eggs: Place the eggs in a pot, cover with water, and bring to a boil. Once boiling, cover and remove from heat. Let sit for 10-12 minutes, then cool in ice water before peeling.
- Cook the Spinach: In a skillet, melt the butter and sauté the garlic until fragrant. Add spinach, cooking just until wilted, then remove from heat and let cool.
- Blend the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine cooked spinach, mayo, mustard, lemon juice, smoked paprika, hot sauce, and potato flakes. Blend until smooth.
- Finish the Eggs: Slice boiled eggs in half and gently remove the yolks. Place yolks in the spinach mixture and blend until well combined. Refill egg whites with this mixture.
- Assemble the Trees: Stack three filled egg halves vertically to create a tree shape. Use minced chili pepper as the trunk and decorate with yellow bell pepper stars. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese for a finishing touch.
Notes
If using Greek yogurt, add until desired consistency is reached. Consider adding edible glitter for enhanced festivity.
