Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup buttermilk (or regular milk with a tablespoon of vinegar)
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for cooking
- Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Begin by marinating the chicken. In a bowl, combine the buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Place the chicken breasts in the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, heat a splash of olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the marinated chicken for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Transfer the chicken to a baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until fully cooked through (internal temp should reach 165°F/74°C).
- Remove from the oven and let rest for a few minutes. Slice and serve!
Notes
For added flavor depth, marinate overnight or at least for 30 minutes. Pair with mashed potatoes and green beans for a delightful meal.
