Description

Juicy, succulent chicken breasts marinated in a blend of spices and buttermilk, baked to perfection for a comforting family favorite.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup buttermilk (or regular milk with a tablespoon of vinegar)
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Begin by marinating the chicken. In a bowl, combine the buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
  3. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  4. In a skillet, heat a splash of olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the marinated chicken for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. Transfer the chicken to a baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until fully cooked through (internal temp should reach 165°F/74°C).
  6. Remove from the oven and let rest for a few minutes. Slice and serve!

Notes

For added flavor depth, marinate overnight or at least for 30 minutes. Pair with mashed potatoes and green beans for a delightful meal.
