Description

A comforting meatloaf infused with the sweet flavor of caramelized onions and melted cheese, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Beef (or Ground Turkey)
  • 2 cups Caramelized Onions
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs (or Gluten-Free Alternative)
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheese (Swiss or Gruyere)
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Thyme
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Caramelize the Onions: Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat in a skillet. Add thinly sliced onions and sauté for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they turn golden brown and fragrant.
  2. Prepare the Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, shredded cheese, egg, garlic powder, thyme, salt, and pepper. Fold in the cooled caramelized onions, mixing gently until just combined.
  3. Shape the Loaf: Transfer the meat mixture to a lined baking sheet or a loaf pan, shaping it into a loaf.
  4. Bake: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the meatloaf for 50-60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  5. Rest and Slice: Allow the meatloaf to rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing to ensure it maintains its juicy texture.

Notes

Pair with creamy mashed potatoes or a fresh green salad. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to three days or freeze for up to three months.
