Description
A comforting meatloaf infused with the sweet flavor of caramelized onions and melted cheese, perfect for family dinners.
Ingredients
- 1 lb Ground Beef (or Ground Turkey)
- 2 cups Caramelized Onions
- 1 cup Breadcrumbs (or Gluten-Free Alternative)
- 1 cup Shredded Cheese (Swiss or Gruyere)
- 1 Egg
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Thyme
- Salt and Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Caramelize the Onions: Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat in a skillet. Add thinly sliced onions and sauté for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they turn golden brown and fragrant.
- Prepare the Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, shredded cheese, egg, garlic powder, thyme, salt, and pepper. Fold in the cooled caramelized onions, mixing gently until just combined.
- Shape the Loaf: Transfer the meat mixture to a lined baking sheet or a loaf pan, shaping it into a loaf.
- Bake: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the meatloaf for 50-60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Rest and Slice: Allow the meatloaf to rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing to ensure it maintains its juicy texture.
